As a means of improving the living standards of marketers in the County, Welthungerhilfe (WHH) officially turned over the newly renovated market to authorities in the county.
The turnover ceremony took place in Zwedru and brought together Marketers, Local government officials, NGOs, and Journalists amongst others.
During the turnover ceremony at the Zwedru Central Market, the German Ambassador to Liberia, H. E Amb. Jakob Haselhuber disclosed that the renovation process is a way of improving the living standards of marketers doing business in the area. Amb. Haselhuber noted that the German government enjoys working with her Liberian counterpart, especially in improving the citizens living conditions.
He further thanked Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and the Local government for ensuring that the work is done in a smooth atmosphere. At the same time, Superintendent Kai G. Farley expressed special thanks to WHH and the German Government for their continuous support to the people of Grand Gedeh.
Superintendent Farley noted that as head of the county, he will always remain engaged with other partners to emulate the good work of the institution. He then called on authorities of the Liberia Marketing Association ( LMA) and the marketers, in general, to ensure that the building is used for the purpose intended.
