Grand Gedeh County benefits from the construction of several housing units in the PTP refugee camp as a means of improving the living standards of refugees in the area.

The housing units are part of the two hundred and twenty (220) housing units promised to be built by UNHCR, an International Organization responsible for refugees. The construction process is led by UNHCR through its implementing partner AIRD in partnership with the government of Liberia through the local authorities.

Making a statement during the dedication process, Superintendent Kai G. Farley expressed special thanks and appreciation to the UNHCR family for the great initiative carried on in the county. He further called on refugees in the area to go about their normal business in conformity with the laws of Liberia.

“We are brothers and sisters and as such we are calling on you to feel free and go about your normal business but please remember that Liberia is a land of law and as such anyone who goes against the laws of the land will be punished by the law no matter your status in the Country”.
