Public works minister, Madam Ruth Coker-Collins meets with cross sections of citizens, assures total pavement of road leading to the South East.

As road remains a major priority for the CDC led government under the command of His Excellency Dr. George M. Weah, Public Works Ministry has began major intervention along the road leading to the South East mainly affecting Toe town- Zwedru.

Madam Collins noted that while the government is set to break ground for the Tapitta-Toe town road corridor the end of June or early July of this year, the ministry is committed to ensuring a total reconditioning of the Toe town-Zwedru road.

“While coming to Zwedru, the President of the Republic of Liberia Dr. George M. Weah instructed us to ensure that the road is totally pliable for drivers, cyclists and commuters so that people will not encounter difficulties while moving on the road”.

She furthered that discussions has been held amongst leaders of the Ministry of Public, Local Authorities of the County (Grand Gedeh) and the management of the Horrizon Logging Company.

The Minister disclosed that final agreements was reached during the meeting with the responsibility given to Horrizon Logging Company in collaboration with the Local Government and Ministry of Public Works to rehabilitate the road leading from Toe Town-Zwedru.

“I am pleased at this particular point in time to announce to you that discussions have been concluded upon and we have agreed that Horrizon Logging Company will soon start the rehabilitation work on the road leading from Zwedru to Toe town”

Madam Collins expressed gratitude to the people of Grand Gedeh for always standing for the right thing and right people.

She made the disclosure during a well attended meeting held at the conference room of Grand Gedeh County’s Administration Building in Zwedru.

“I want to say a special thank you to all of you here and the good people of Grand Gedeh County for the manner and form in which you welcomed us here today; we absolutely grateful and can assure you that we are committed to fixing this road”

In a related development Superintendent Kai G. Farley thanked the Minister for the cordial working relationship exhibited.

He expressed happiness over the pronouncement made by the Ministry of Public Works and as well the plan for the total rehabilitation of the Toe town-Zwedru corridor.

“On behalf of the people of Grand Gedeh County, I want to express special thanks and appreciations to you and the entire team for the efforts that you have committed yourselves to do in ensuring that this our road is totally reconditioned”.
